Preferred File Types
For the best results, we recommend submitting artwork in one of the following formats:
Vector Files (Best Choice)
- SVG
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- EPS
- PDF (Vector)
Vector files can be resized without losing quality and produce the cleanest, sharpest engravings and prints.
High-Resolution Raster Images (Accepted)
- PNG (preferred for logos with transparent backgrounds)
- TIFF
- JPG or JPEG (high resolution only)
Image Resolution
Artwork should be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the size it will be engraved or printed. Images downloaded from websites or social media are typically only 72 DPI and often do not contain enough detail for professional results.
Low-resolution images may appear:
- Blurry or pixelated
- Jagged around edges
- Missing fine details
- Poorly engraved or printed
If your artwork does not meet our quality standards, we will contact you to request a higher-quality file whenever possible.
Transparent Backgrounds
For logos and artwork, we strongly recommend submitting files with a transparent background, such as PNG or SVG files.
Transparent backgrounds allow us to accurately isolate your artwork without unwanted boxes, colored backgrounds, or extra editing.
If your artwork has a white or colored background, additional design work may be required to prepare it for engraving or printing.
Laser Engraving Considerations
Laser engraving works best with artwork that has:
- High contrast
- Clean, crisp lines
- Solid black artwork (for monochrome engravings)
- Minimal gradients or shadows
Very thin lines, tiny text, intricate details, gradients, or photographic images may not engrave well depending on the size of the finished product. If necessary, we may simplify or adjust artwork to achieve the best possible engraving while maintaining the original design.
Printing Considerations
For printed products, colors shown on computer monitors and mobile devices may vary slightly from the final printed product due to differences in screen calibration and printing processes.
Artwork Preparation
Minor adjustments such as resizing, centering, or basic cleanup are included when preparing your artwork.
However, artwork that requires significant editing—including recreating logos, converting low-resolution images into vector artwork, removing complex backgrounds, repairing damaged artwork, or extensive design modifications—may incur an additional artwork fee. We will always discuss any additional charges with you before work begins.
Customer Responsibility
By submitting artwork, you confirm that:
- You own the artwork or have permission to use it.
- You have the legal rights to reproduce any logos, trademarks, or copyrighted material submitted.
- The artwork you approve in the final proof is accurate and ready for production.
